April saw the beginning of a lot of big adventures - my not-so little brother turned 18 , the puppies grew and got ready to leave for their forever homes, one of my closest friends turned 30, our favourite ice hockey team won the Playoffs and I got to spend lots of time with a lovely collie cross called Jackson and his bestest cat friend, Tinker!

My brothers 18th

One of the biggest changes in April was my little baby brother becoming a 6ft tall adult man! We celebrated with the most stunning cake, dotted with mini bottles of vodka, an amazing meal at one of our favourite restaurants/pubs, and later in May we will be visiting the gorgeous city of Krakow to continue the celebrations!

The biggest PUPdate yet

Maya's beautiful bouncy babies entered the final half of their time with us as April saw them grow from teeny little furry potatoes, just opening their eyes, to only 3 days away to leaving for their forever homes! The gorgeous Toffee was reserved to live with Mayas niece Tilly, Flo will be joining a fantastic dog behaviourist and trainer with extensive experience with collies, Blu has been selected to join a stunning Dalmatian called Ella with his new owners hoping to introduce him to agility after a successful history in dog sports themselves previously. Maya (named after her mum) has been reserved by a lovely family of first time dog owners who have extensively researched into her specific needs and she's already been the highlight of show-and-tell at their local primary school! Finally, Trixie and Peggy have been selected together to live with a very experienced collie home with previous knowledge of owning and training litter mates. Little Ollie has not yet been selected for a home so will live with us and Hallie, the final pup, until his perfect owners come along! We cant wait to see them thriving in their new homes and receive all of the updates of the chaos they've been causing across the UK!

Playoff Champions

My mum, brother and I have been big Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey supporters for a while now with our fantastic team qualifying for Playoffs after winning their game against the Guildford Flames during the second weekend of April. Playoff weekend is always an amazing weekend of hockey, hosted on our teams home ice at The Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham. The weekend is always full of fun, games, entertainment and above all - ice hockey! Fans from all over the UK come to see the champions be crowned in the final game after 3 thrilling games of action, and what a thrill it was! Both the semi-final and the final saw the Nottingham Panthers in overtime action of which the final saw over 32 minutes of overtime until Panthers were crowned the winners! We can't wait for the season to start again in September!

Drop ins

With a very busy month, and little availability for pet stays and visits, I conducted many meet and greets ready for the Summer and had a lovely time dropping in on Jackson and Tinker. Jackson is a beautiful collie type crossbreed whose age is not holding him back one bit! He loved playing fetch in the garden with a squeaky dinosaur and kept sneaking off to steal cat food - much to his dismay I moved this onto the kitchen counter so he had to eat his own biscuits instead! Tinker, his stunning black and white feline friend, loved having cuddles on the sofa and sunbathing in the garden whilst watching Jackson and I play, and the huge fish in the pond being fed. Jackson and Tinkers owners were so pleased with how well their beautiful pets adapted to my drop-ins that we are in talks of organising some more drop ins in the Summer months, now that their minds are at rest and their pets are going to be well cared for.

I can't wait for May - puppies going to their forever homes, a week in Poland, puppy classes. Custard begins her Hoopers training and I already have 5 lovely pets scheduled in for drop-ins or pet sits!
